Franklin confirms Strong’s departure

Aug. 11, 2012

Commodore linebacker Tristan Strong’s comeback from injury has ended, Vanderbilt Head Coach James Franklin said after the team’s stadium scrimmage.

Franklin said Strong, a redshirt senior from Loganville, Ga., has left the team for personal reasons. He has not participated in Vanderbilt practices since Wednesday.

Strong started the first four games at outside linebacker last year before suffering a season-ending leg injury against South Carolina. He finished with 13 solo tackles and 16 total tackles as a junior starter.

Strong also missed most of the 2009 season because of a leg injury suffered against Army.
