NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Former Vanderbilt women’s basketball player Jence Rhoads will join Team USA for the Four Nations Tournament, held June 28-July 10 in China. Rhoads joins a group of former collegiate athletes who will compete against the Chinese, Russian and Australian Olympic teams as they prepare for the 2012 Summer Games in London.
Rhoads, who most recently played professionally in Iceland, is one of 12 former collegiate players on the roster, which also includes five players with WNBA experience.
NetScouts Basketball is sponsoring the trip and the three-game Pre-Olympic event. Following games against the Olympic teams from China, Russia and Australia, the squad will travel to a second city to take on the Chinese National “B” Team.
Also on the roster are Katie Bussey (Montana State), Dawn Evans (James Madison/Connecticut Sun), Ashley Corrall (USC/Seattle Storm), Brittany Carter (Memphis/Connecticut Sun), Becky Burke (Louisville), Briana Gilbreath (USC/Washington Mystics), Amanda Johnson (Oregon), Kristina Santiago (Cal Poly), Cierra Bravard (Florida State/San Antonio Silver Stars), Becca Tobin (Arizona State/Romania) and Kali Bennett (Arizona State).
