On the eve of the 2012 NCAA Women’s Golf Championships, all 24 teams and the six individual participants took to the Vanderbilt Legends Club North Course for one final practice round on Monday.
First-round play at the 72-hole tournament begins at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday morning and the Commodores will start off the first tee at 12:55 p.m. with Texas A&M and LSU.
Following Monday’s nine-hole practice round, Vanderbilt senior golfer Marina Alex and Head Coach Greg Allen spoke with the media.
“We want to win and there is no doubt about that,” Allen said. “And we keep telling them that what they accomplished last week was by far under more pressure than what they are going to feel this week, especially with the hole we dug in that first round. Being right on the cut line after 18 holes, they really stepped up to the plate and took care of business that second round and gave themselves a cushion for that final round.”
