– Picked up the series-clinching win in relief on Sunday against third-ranked Kentucky.

– Turned in seven scoreless innings against third-ranked Kentucky in Vanderbilt’s 4-3 win on Saturday.
– He matched career-highs with seven innings and eight strikeouts.
– Walked the first two batters on eight pitches, throwing 11 straight balls to start the game, but rebounded to strike out A.J. Reed and get Luke Maile to hit into an inning-ending double play.
– Cruised until the sixth inning when the Wildcats loaded the bases but a ground out finished the frame. Allowed only one base runner to reach third base.

Vanderbilt posted a winning record (3-1) over the week with wins at Middle Tennessee State and a series win over third-ranked Kentucky… The Commodores used three home runs to down Middle Tennessee State 8-4 on Wednesday night in Murfreesboro… Conrad Gregor, Spencer Navin and Connor Harrell all went deep as Sam Selman won his fifth straight start… Kentucky claimed the series opener Friday night with a 5-2 win over Vanderbilt… Connor Harrell and Mike Yastrzemski each had two hits in the loss and John Norwod drove in a run with a double… Starter T.J. Pecoraro took the loss giving up four runs on five hits and four walks… Brian Miller and Steven Rice each turned in stellar relief outings… The Commodores edged the Wildcats 4-3 to even the series Saturday… Spencer Navin homered and drove in the winning run with a triple in the eighth inning to lead the way… Tyler Beede tossed seven scoreless innings matching a career-best with eight strikeouts in a no decision… Will Clinard picked up the win despite allowing three runs in his lone inning of work… Vanderbilt rallied for five runs in the eighth inning to clinch the series against Kentucky with a 6-1 win on Sunday… Connor Harrell’s grand slam in the eighth capped the rally and Mike Yastrzemski had three hits in the win… Sam Selman earned his second win of the week working 2.1 innings out of the bullpen with four strikeouts, including striking out the side in the ninth… VU starter Kevin Ziomek punched out eight over 5.2 scoreless innings in a no decision.
