NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Big Ten Conference and Northwestern University announced on Tuesday that Vanderbilt’s game at Northwestern on Saturday, Sept. 8 will begin at 7 p.m. CT and will air live on Big Ten Network.
Vanderbilt and Northwestern last played to open the 2010 season with the Wildcats holding off the Commodores, 23-21, in Nashville. Vanderbilt last visited Northwestern (Evanston, Ill.) in 1952 – a 20-20 tie. The two teams also played in Evanston in 1947 with the Commodores winning 3-0.
The game at Northwestern will be the second game of the season for both squads. The Commodores will open their 2012 home season on Thursday, Aug. 30 by hosting South Carolina. The kickoff time for the South Carolina game will be announced at a later date. Northwestern begins its 2012 season on Sept. 1 at Syracuse.
