Saturday marks the end of the regular season for the No. 24 Vanderbilt Commodores, as the women’s tennis team hosts the Kentucky Wildcats at noon at the Currey Tennis Center.
The Dores finished last weekend with a sweep over the Mississippi State Bulldogs on Sunday on the road after a 5-2 loss to Ole Miss on Friday. The team improved to 14-8 (6-4), and are third in the Eastern Division standings, behind Florida (10-0 SEC) and Georgia (8-2 SEC).
Five of the Commodores will finish their regular season with a 20+ win season, including Ashleigh Antal (21-6), Marie Casares (21-8), Lauren Mira (26-10), Nelly Radeva (22-8) and Jackie Wu (22-12). Radeva has led the team in wins this spring, going 18-3 in the dual season.
Wu, Mira, and Casares again made the ITA’s rankings, with Mira moving up to the #77 player. Wu is the #36 player, and Casares, who was named SEC Freshman of the Week, is the #111 player.
They face the unranked Wildcats, who are 9-12 (1-9 SEC).
