The Vanderbilt Commodores travel to Oxford, Mississippi this weekend to take part in the Mississippi Open, hosted by Ole Miss.

Both the men’s and the women’s teams will compete in events beginning on Saturday morning, with the men competing in the 800m and 1500m events, and the women entering multiple track and field events.

Brionne Williams and Ellie Tidman will continue pushing the bar higher in the High Jump, while teammates Meagan Martin, Morgan Toone and Alyson Hasty will compete in the Pole Vault. Rebecca Chandler will have an opportunity to compete in the 3000m Steeplechase.

Catherine Diethelm and Hannah Jumper will run in the 800m, while Jumper, Kellie Kuzmuk, and Erlena Josifi will take part in the 1500m. Senior Nia Washington will compete in the Heptathlon.

Thirteen NCAA Division I teams will compete in the women’s events, while there are 14 men’s teams.

All of the men will compete in the 1500m, and Andrew Bachman and Alan Ash will also compete in the 800m.

The Commodores are coming off an incredibly successful weekend at the Colonial Relays, where the 4×1500 team of Allie Scalf, Kristen Findley, Alexa Rogers and Jordan White ran their way onto the college leaderboard with their time of 18:04.85.

The meet runs through Saturday, with four heptathlon events for the women continuing into Sunday morning.
