Vanderbilt shut out Tennessee Tech in a midweek victory and dropped two-of-three against No. 10 South Carolina over the weekend… The Commodores posted the team’s third shutout victory of the season with a 6-0 blanking of Tennessee Tech Tuesday night… Sam Selman and Brian Miller combined on a four-hit shutout… Selman earned his first collegiate victory and Miller notched his first career save and the team’s first save of the season… Joel McKeithan led the offense with a career-high four hits… South Carolina jumped on Vanderbilt early and held off a late rally to win the opener 8-3 Friday night… Kevin Ziomek was tagged for six runs on seven hits over 5.1 innings in the loss… Conrad Gregor pushed his hitting streak to seven games with a single… The Commodores used a seven-run fourth and stellar pitching to beat the Gamecocks 12-4 Saturday… Tyler Beede earned his first collegiate win with six strong innings while Brian Miller notched his second save with three innings of work… Tony Kemp led 11 different Commodores that collected at least one hit in the win, Kemp posted two hits and two RBI… Freshman Connor Castellano blasted his first career home run with a solo shot… The Gamecocks outlasted the Dores on Sunday 6-4 in 13 innings… Freshman Philip Pfeifer was pinned with the loss after allowing a two-run homer in the 13th inning… Tony Kemp paced the VU offense with a pair of doubles and two RBI… Drew VerHagen pitched 4.2 scoreless innings of relief.
