AT LEAST SEVEN TO WIN
Vanderbilt has needed at least seven runs in a game to earn a win this season. The Commodores are 7-1 when scoring at least seven runs this season and 0-12 when scoring less than seven runs. Vandy was 33-1 last season when scoring at least seven runs and 21-11 when scoring six runs or less. The Dores are 1-11 when allowing five runs or more this season.

DOUBLE STREAK GOMEZ
Junior Anthony Gomez enters today’s game riding two different streaks. Gomez is riding a 10-game hitting streak going 17-for-41 during the streak with five multi-hit games. The infielder’s other streak is a six-game RBI streak. Gomez has driven in 10 runs during that streak and leads the squad with 21 RBI.

RUNNING COMMODORES
Vanderbilt has been on the run over the team’s last five games stealing seven bases in seven attempts. The Dores’ seven stolen bases over the last five games are half of the team’s total (14) this season.

AGAINST THE ACES
Vanderbilt hosts Evansville for the first time since 2008 when the Commodores topped the Purple Aces 4-3. Jonathan White’s walk-off single in the ninth led Vandy to victory after Evansville posted three runs in the ninth to tie the game. The Dores hold a 31-16 advantage against Evansville in a series dating back to 1949 when the Purple Aces won 12-9.
