Vanderbilt’s men’s golf team begins its spring season this Monday and Tuesday at the Mobile Intercollegiate in Mobile, Ala. The event, hosted by the University of South Alabama, will take place at the Magnolia Grove Crossings Golf Course, and will be set up as a par-72, 7,160-yard layout.
The Commodores will play 36 holes on Monday of the 54-hole tournament, and the final 18 holes will take place on Tuesday.
Playing for the Commodores
Seniors Adam Hofmann and Trey DelGreco, sophomores Charlie Ewing and Mills Rendell, and freshman Hunter Stewart will tee it up for Vanderbilt this week at the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate. Senior Charlie Grace, juniors Will Snipes and Ryan Thornton, and freshman Ben Fogler will play in the inaugural USA Individual Tournament, which will include two rounds on the Magnolia Grove Falls Golf Course (par 72, 7,051 yards) on Monday morning and one round on Tuesday.
The Field
Akron, Arkansas State, Illinois, Illinois State, Kentucky, Louisiana-Lafayette, Memphis, Mercer, Middle Tennessee, Mississippi State, South Alabama, Southern Mississippi, Toledo, and Wake Forest will join Vanderbilt in Mobile.
Notes
- Middle Tennessee State is the defending champion of the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate, and Jason Millard of MTSU is the reigning medalist.
- The Commodores played in the tournament last year, and finished fifth out of 15 teams. Adam Hofmann led the way for Vanderbilt, finishing with a two-over par, 218, and in a tie for sixth.
- There will be a shotgun start on Monday at 8:30 a.m. CT, and fixed start times on one and 10 on Tuesday morning beginning at 8 a.m.
