Vanderbilt Athletics Hall of Fame
Vanderbilt athletic officials have decided to put its Athletic Hall of Fame Weekend on an every-other-year basis, which means the next induction will occur in 2013.
“We place a high value on our Hall of Fame tradition and think moving to every other year is in the best long-term interest of the event,” said Rod Williamson, one of the members of the Hall of Fame Committee. “We considered the pros and cons of hosting an annual weekend versus the bigger impact a special weekend every two years would generate and came to the conclusion that alternating years was the best choice. But we already can’t wait for the 2013 weekend.”
Vanderbilt has enshrined four classes totaling 40 inductees since forming its Athletic Hall of Fame in 2008.
Nominations for the fifth Hall of Fame Class will open approximately January, 2013.
