Scouting the Commodores
Vanderbilt hits the road for the first time this season, taking a 6-0 record and national ranking with it. The sophomore guard is averaging 14.5 points and 6.0 assists per game, both team highs. Fellow guard Christina Foggie is right behind her, averaging 13.0 ppg. The frontcourt is keeping up with the guard play, as Tiffany Clarke is also averaging 13.0 ppg and a team-high 7.7 rebounds per game, while center Stephanie Holzer is contributing 12.3 points and 6.3 rebounds per contest. Vanderbilt has also gotten outstanding play from guards Elan Brown (second on team with 7.5 rpg), Maggie Morrison (second on team with 5.0 apg) and Kady Schrann (6.5 ppg), as well as forward Clair Watkins (6.3 ppg).

Vanderbilt vs. Austin Peay – The Series
Vanderbilt and Austin Peay will be meeting for the 14th time on Wednesday, with the Commodores holding a 12-1 edge in the series. The first meeting is the only Lady Gov win in the series, as they took an 81-61 decision in Clarksville during Vanderbilt’s first season of women’s basketball, before the Commodores took a 75-70 overtime win later that year at Memorial Gym. The teams met again in 1979 and 1980 at the UT Martin Christmas Classic, both Commodore wins. Vanderbilt also won a contest in Clarksville later in the 1980-81 season, before taking two wins in 1981-82. After Vandy won in Clarksville in 1982-83, the teams met three times from 1988-91, all Commodore victories with the middle contest in Clarksville. The series resumed briefly in 2002 with an 84-50 Vanderbilt win at Memorial Gym. The most recent meeting was in the 2009 Vanderbilt Thanksgiving Tournament, a 95-51 Commodore win that saw Jordan Coleman score a career-high 17 points. All-time, Vanderbilt is 3-1 in Clarksville.

Commodores vs. Ohio Valley
Vanderbilt has posted an all-time record of 54-17 against the Ohio Valley Conference. A majority of those match-ups have come against in-state foes Austin Peay (13-1), Tennessee State (14-2), Tennessee Tech (6-10) and UT Martin (9-1). The Commodores have also faced Eastern Illinois (2-0), Eastern Kentucky (2-0), Morehead State (2-0) and Murray State (4-3). Vanderbilt has never faced three Ohio Valley members – Jacksonville State, Southeast Missouri State and Southern Illinois-Edwardsville. Austin Peay is the first of two Ohio Valley opponents for Vanderbilt this season, as it travels to UT Martin on December 7.

On-Deck
The Commodores return to the friendly confines of Memorial Gym on Friday, December 2, when they host Denver. Tipoff with the Pioneers is set for 7:00 p.m.
