NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Sophomore guard Jasmine Lister has been named the Southeastern Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week (Nov. 21-27). Lister is the first Vanderbilt player to earn such an honor this season.

She opened the week with a nine-point, six-assist performance against Sam Houston State, before scoring seven points and grabbing five rebounds in the win over Lipscomb.
Lister saved her best for the final game of the week, scoring a career-high 24 points versus No. 13/14 Oklahoma in the championship game of the Vanderbilt Thanksgiving Tournament. She added six assists in the 78-66 win over the Sooners and took home tournament MVP honors.
“Jasmine has done a tremendous job distributing the ball at the point and scoring in our offense at the wing,” said Head Coach Melanie Balcomb. “Her versatility and leadership have had a huge impact on the early success we have had this season.”
She leads the team in both scoring and assists on the season, averaging 14.5 points and 6.0 assists per game.
Lister was also named the SEC Player of the Week by College Sports Madness.
It marks the first SEC Player of the Week selection for Vanderbilt since February 7, 2011, when then-freshman Stephanie Holzer earned the nod.
Lister and the Commodores return to action on Wednesday, November 30, when they travel to Clarksville, Tenn., to take on Austin Peay. Tipoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
