Nashville, Tenn. – Senior offensive lineman Kyle Fischer was named co-Offensive Lineman of the Week by the Southeastern Conference on Monday.
Fischer helped pave the way for the Commodores’ 297 yards rushing in Saturday’s win at Wake Forest. The game marked the fifth time this season the Dores ran for at least 200 yards. Fischer and the offensive line led the way for running back Zac Stacy to rush for 184 yards and three touchdowns en route to the school single season rushing record of 1,136 yards. Stacy’s 20-yard and 40-yard touchdown runs were behind Fischer. In the win over the Demon Deacons, Fischer and the line did not allow a quarterback sack leading the way to 481 yards of total offense and 24 first downs.
Fischer is the sixth Commodore this season to earn league honors and the third offensive lineman to be honored by the SEC. Alabama center William Vlachos shares the Offensive Lineman of the Week title with Fischer.
