Commodores arrive in Florida

Vanderbilt’s football team traveled to Florida on Friday afternoon in preparation for its game against the Gators at 11:21 a.m. CT on Saturday (SEC Network).

The Commodores departed Vanderbilt’s McGugin Center shortly after 10 a.m. and departed Nashville International Airport at 12:25 p.m. for the 1-hour, 5-minute flight to Gainesville.

Both teams enter Saturday’s matchup 4-4 overall. The Gators have lost four straight games, while the Commodores will be looking to halt a four-game skid in SEC games.

Vanderbilt is bidding to end a 20-game losing streak to the Gators, who lead the all-time series 33-9-2. Vanderbilt’s last win in the series came in 1988 (24-9) in Nashville. The Commodores’ lone win in Gainesville came in 1945 (7-0).

Upon arriving at the team hotel at 2 p.m., the Commodores dispersed too their respective rooms for a few hours of relaxation before beginning meetings at 4 p.m.

With an early kick on Saturday, the Commodores will have a 6:50 a.m. CT wake-up call Saturday morning before the team departs for the stadium.
