Chelsea Preeg won her first two singles matches to advance to the flight final, scheduled for Sunday at 9:00 a.m. ET, at the Furman Classic.
Preeg came back after losing the first set to beat Furman’s Alex Moreno 4-6, 6-1, 6-0. She then beat Alabama’s Taylor Lindsey 6-1, 6-2.
Lauren Mira won her first match against UNC’s Tessa Lyons, 6-2, 6-1 before losing to Dijana Stojic from South Carolina, 6-1, 6-3. Jackie Wu split her matches as well, losing the first round of the flight with a tiebreaker, 7-5, 1-6, 7-6(1). She went on to beat her next opponent, Anya Morgina from USC, 6-4, 2-6, 7-6(7).
Nelly Radeva and Ashleigh Antal both lost their two singles matches of the day.
Play resumes at 9:00 a.m ET, with Wu, Mira, Radeva, and Preeg set to play. Antal and Gornet will play their upcoming matches at 10:30 a.m.
