Vanderbilt led all schools with a record 28 honorees on the ninth annual American Lacrosse Conference Academic Honor Roll, announced recently by league commissioner Peggy Pruitt.
A total of 118 student-athletes were honored from the conference’s six member schools. Northwestern was second with 21 recipients, followed by Florida with 20 and Ohio State with 19.
Student-athletes who maintained a GPA of 3.0 or better during the 2010-11 academic year were eligible for the Honor Roll. All 12 members of the All-ALC first team appeared on the list, along with five members of the second team.
“To have 28 members of our team achieve a 3.0 or better at our Top 20 university is quite an accomplishment,” VU Head Coach Cathy Swezey said. “The hard work and dedication of our student-athletes make Vanderbilt a great place to coach.”
