LAS VEGAS, NV–Junior All-American Jessica Earnest was in fourth place in a field of 578 to lead a contingent of Vanderbilt bowlers after the first day of the USBC’s Junior Gold Tournament.
Earnest averaged 221.33 over six games and trails leader Holly Harris of Long Prairie, Minn., who averaged 235 on her first day. Earnest had games of 266-221-213-213-234-181. Other Commodore veterans competing in this national event are Kim Carper, who averaged 195.67, and Lauren Rhein, who averaged 169.83.
