Nashville, Tenn. – The College World Series All-Tournament Team was announced last night with two Vanderbilt players making the team.

The 11-man team is made up of only Southeastern Conference players, including two Commodores. Tony Kemp and Connor Harrell were the only non-Florida or South Carolina players to make the squad. Kemp was an offensive catalyst for the Dores in Omaha hitting .400 (6-for-15) with two triples. The Franklin, Tenn. native recorded the first hit in TD Ameritrade Park College World Series history with a bunt single to lead off Vanderbilt’s game against North Carolina in the CWS game at the new park. Harrell led the Commodores with a .417 average (5-for-12) hitting two home runs and driving in six runs. His home run against North Carolina in the opening game was the first CWS home run in TD Ameritrade Park and his second round tripper made him the first player in the new park to hit two home runs in the series.

Harrell will take part in the College Home Run Derby on Saturday, July 2 at TD Ameritrade Park. He is one of eight contestants and is the lone player the SEC in the derby. Harrell finished his sophomore campaign with nine home runs. The event will air on CBS on Sunday, July 3 at 1 p.m.

Vanderbilt finished the season 54-12 to match the school record for wins in a season and set the school record for the fewest losses in a season.
