Garvin named Louisville Slugger All-American

Nashville, Tenn. – Collegiate Baseball has announced the Louisville Slugger All-American teams with Vanderbilt pitcher Grayson Garvin earning second team honors.

Garvin matched the school record for wins with his 12th victory of the year last week against Arkansas and was named the Southeastern Conference Pitcher of the Year and first team All-SEC. He is the first Commodore to be recognized as a Louisville Slugger All-American since 2007 when a school record four players were named to the first and second teams.

The Commodores host a NCAA Tournament Regional for just the second time in school history this weekend. Vanderbilt plays cross-town rival Belmont tomorrow night with first pitch scheduled for 7 p.m. Oklahoma State and Troy play at 2 p.m. to start the tournament.
