Hoover, Ala. – Freshman pitcher T.J. Pecoraro sustained a season-ending injury in last night’s win over Georgia in the opening round of the Southeastern Conference Tournament.
Pecoraro left the game in the fourth inning of the Commodores’ 10-0 victory with discomfort in his forearm and will be re-evaluated upon the team’s return to Nashville. The freshman from Dix Hills, NY ends his first season at Vanderbilt 7-0 with a 1.59 ERA in 17 games, six starts.
“I’m disappointed for T.J. but he had a great freshman season,” Head Coach Tim Corbin said. “His teammates will pick him up.”
Vanderbilt continues play in the SEC Tournament tonight against top-ranked South Carolina.
