Nashville, Tenn, – Vanderbilt finished the regular season in a three-way tie atop the Southeastern Conference with South Carolina and Florida but the Commodores will be the fourth seed in the SEC Tournament.
The Commodores play the fourth and final game of the day on Wednesday night at Regions Park in Hoover, Ala. against the fifth-seeded Georgia Bulldogs. Top-seeded South Carolina and eighth-seeded Auburn are in the same side of the bracket and play at 4:30 with the Dores and Bulldogs scheduled to begin 30 minutes after the conclusion of the Gamecocks and Tigers. With a win Vanderbilt would advance to play the winner of South Carolina-Auburn on Thursday night. A loss would pair the Commodores against the loser of South Carolina-Auburn in the second game of the day on Thursday.
The tournament begins on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. with second-seeded Arkansas taking on seventh-seeded Alabama. Third-seeded Florida takes on sixth-seeded Mississippi State in the second game on Wednesday. The SEC Tournament is a double elimination tournament. The championship game will be Sunday, May 29 at 1 p.m. and be broadcast on ESPN2.
