Commodores are looking good as the scores continue to roll in. It looks like the morning session was the time to be out on the course…the wind has become somewhat of a challenge for teams still out.
As we wait for results, I shot a roundtable video of our team with Coach Allen and strength and conditioning coach Curtis Turner, who also made the trip out to College Station, and posted it below.
And of course, the talk turned to Coach’s hair…what else? I think there’s no place where he’d rather have the conversation to go.

Vanderbilt is in the clubhouse after the first round of the NCAA Championship with a nine-over par, 297, the fourth-best total of the 12 teams that teed off in the morning wave. The Commodores counted a pair of even-par 72’s from junior Marina Alex and sophomore Anna Leigh Keith, a four-over par 76 from sophomore Lauren Stratton, and a five-over par 77 from freshman Rene Sobolewski.
Alex and Keith finished with three birdies and three bogeys in their round on Wednesday.
Conditions at The Tradition were breezy and warm, with the wind gusting to 15 to 20 mph.
Twelve teams are still on the course.
Check back later for video interviews and a full recap from College Station, Texas.
