The Vanderbilt women’s tennis team travels to Kentucky this weekend to close out the regular season. The Commodores and Wildcats will square off on Saturday at 1 p.m. CT (changed from an original start time of 3 p.m.) at the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Complex.
The Commodores enter the match with a 12-7 overall record and a 6-4 mark in conference matches. Last weekend, Vanderbilt picked up two wins after sweeping LSU, 7-0, and defeating Arkansas, 4-3, in a close match. Alex Leatu leads the team, as she is ranked 76th in the nation and has played the majority of the season at the No. 1 position.
Also ranked by the ITA is Chelsea Preeg, at No. 83. Earlier in the season, Preeg posted an 11 match win streak, and is 13-4 overall this spring.
The Wildcats are 4-18 with a 2-8 mark in the SEC. They suffered two losses last weekend, falling 6-1 at Arkansas before dropping a 6-2 decision at LSU. Megan Broderick is ranked 121st by the ITA and is 8-13 this spring.
