Christina Foggie is a quick study.

The Vanderbilt University freshman caught on to the college game right away and has made an immediate impact on her team, which will face Louisville in a first-round NCAA tournament game Sunday in Cincinnati.

The smooth, 5-foot-9 guard, who starred at Lenape High School, has started seven of the 20 games in which she has appeared, and the ones she missed were due to injury.

She’s fifth on the team in scoring, averaging 10.1 points per game, and she’s shooting 36 percent from 3-point range, 76.9 percent from the foul line and has 42 assists for the Commodores (20-11).

“It actually was a smoother transition than I thought coming in. Coach (Melanie) Balcomb had confidence in me to keep doing what I was doing in high school,” said Foggie.
