March 17, 2011
I hope everyone is ready to put their dancing shoes on. The NCAA tournament (aka The Big Dance) starts this Saturday. As most of you know we will play Louisville in Cincinnati in a first round game on Sunday (11:10 a.m. CT).
We had a very disappointing loss against Kentucky in the SEC tournament, but have had a good few weeks of practice and will use that loss to learn and provide added motivation for the tournament. It is safe to say that this season did not go exactly according to plan, but what really does in life? Without the adversity of this year we would not be the team we are today and I believe we are a team that can make some major noise in the NCAAs.
Having been through a few tournaments now, I have a better idea of what to expect, and if we come in Sunday’s game with confidence and our minds right, there is no doubt that our team and all of our fans will be happy with the outcome. Louisville is a very good ball club that in no way should be taken lightly, and we know that we have to bring our `A’ game and compete hard.
I also want to congratulate our men’s team on getting a No. 5 seed and making it into the NCAA tournament. They have proven a lot of people wrong this year and have opened many people’s eyes across the Nation. I know everyone on our team wishes them the best of luck and we will all be watching!
With the tournament upon us and school coming to a rapid close, our season and school year is continuing to fly by. I remember when I was first moving into my dorm in August counting down the days until our first game and now it is March.
Our team has been through preseason conditioning, preseason games, and SEC games and the tournament. Now we are prepared to take every game as if it is our last (because IT IS for our 2011 season!) and have a great NCAA tournament run. After all this is the best time of year. As Dick Vitale would say… IT’S MARCH MADNESS BABY!!!!!!!! Go ‘Dores!
