NASHVILLE – The 13th-ranked Vanderbilt lacrosse team travels to face Jacksonville University on Saturday, March 5 at D.B. Milne Field. The game is scheduled for a 10:30 a.m. CT start.

The Commodores (3-2) are coming off a 17-3 victory over Cincinnati, which wrapped up a four-game homestand. Juniors Ally Carey, Courtney Kirk and Alex Priddy each scored three goals in the convincing victory.

Kirk leads the Commodores with 20 points (nine goals, 11 assists) on the season. Vanderbilt’s leading goal scorer is senior Emily Franke (10 goals, five assists).

Junior goalkeeper Natalie Wills has started all five games for the Commodores and is allowing fewer than 10 goals per game.

In the field, Carey leads the Commodores in draw controls (23), ground balls (13) and caused turnovers (eight). The Bel Air, Md., native was named to the 2011 Tewaaraton Award Watch List. The 11th annual Tewaaraton Award will be presented on June 2 at the historical Warner Theatre in Washington, D.C.

Jacksonville (3-2) just returned from a West Coast trip to Eugene, Ore. The Dolphins defeated Fresno State, 19-6, before falling to homestanding Oregon, 15-9, the following day.

Ellyn Spangerberg and Morgan Derner have each scored eight goals this season to pace Jacksonville. Karli Tobin has started all five games in goal.
