Sonny Gray allowed only one run over six innings and the Commodore bullpen threw three scoreless as the third-ranked Vanderbilt baseball team defeated eighth-ranked Stanford, 2-1, Friday in the first of a three-game series at Charles Hawkins Field.
Anthony Gomez and Jason Esposito had Vanderbilt’s RBI as the Commodores defeated Cardinal All-American Mark Appel.
