- James Franklin is meeting people coast to coast. He was in Memphis Feb. 17 and then flew with David Williams to San Diego for some meet and greets around the baseball team’s games this weekend. On March 10 our new football coach will be in Atlanta for a reception at the Georgia World Congress Center in conjunction with the SEC Men’s Basketball Tournament. If you are attending the basketball tournament or live in the Atlanta area, you will want to meet Coach Franklin at this event. The NCC can provide details.
- There is still time to nominate your favorite Commodore player, coach or administrator for our Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2011. You can find a nomination form and learn who has already been inducted by clicking here.
- Congratulations to men’s tennis coach Ian Duvenhage, who will be inducted into the University of Miami’s Athletic Hall of Fame March 24. Ian was a star player for Miami and later turned pro. He was a three-time SEC Coach of the Year while coaching Florida, then coached on the ATP Tour before coming to Vanderbilt. His most recent recruiting class has been rated No. 1 in the nation.
