My thoughts and prayers to Chris Meriwether and the Meriwether family after hearing of the passing of Chris’ mother this morning.
–Alexander (Oak Hill)

  • It was a very difficult week for the team. It is a very close group, and with the Meriwether’s being here in Nashville, the team sees the parents all the time. They will certainly bounce back from this, but it’s understandable that there was an emotional impact on the team. I’m sure not a single player would use that as an excuse for losing to Arkansas, but it’s simply a challenge they had to deal with.

Hey there, Mr. Fisher. I haven’t been able to hear your shows very often since joining the Air Force, so I thought I’d send you a message. Could you please tell me how many shots during practice the players take regarding their free throws. I can see my mother right now getting red in the face when guys miss their shots. Also, I plan on becoming a broadcaster out of the military but would love your job, or at least to work with the Commodores. Thank you for all you do.
— SSgt Christopher T. Kersey 721st Aerial Port Squadron Ramstein AFB, Germany

  • Christopher, first thank you for your service to our country. Our players shoot free throws at various times during practice. One of the things I like is our coaches have the players shoot free throws in the middle of a practice, when they are tired and winded, which is when you’ll be shooting them in a game. Percentage wise, we have been very good this year, and need that to continue. Please don’t come after my job, as I’d like to have it a little longer. Thank you again for your service, and I hope to meet you in the future.

Is Andre Walker’s injury a little more serious than just a sprain?
— Jason (Greenbrier)

  • Andre’s ankle injury is quite possibly the most serious non-break injury that I’ve ever seen. Weeks after the injury, it is still swollen and bruised. He is making great progress and jogging up and down the court. But, the cutting and turning side to side is much harder, so I anticipate a little more time before we see Andre in the lineup.
