Ulery named SEC Player of the Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Senior Keilly Ulery has been named the SEC Women’s Tennis Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Wednesday.

Ulery played an instrumental role in Vanderbilt’s victory over No. 9 Northwestern last Friday. In doubles play, Ulery teamed up with freshman Lauren Mira for an 8-4 victory in the No. 3 match. With the win, the pair clinched the doubles point for the Commodores.

The Wellington, Fla. native decided the match for Vanderbilt with a victory in the No. 6 singles match. After dropping the first set, 1-6, Ulery came back and tied the set with a 6-4 win in the second. In the tiebreaker set, Ulery prevailed for a 7-5 win to give the ‘Dores a 4-3 victory over the Wildcats.

No. 19 Vanderbilt travels to Clemson, S.C. this weekend to play in the ITA Kick-Off Weekend. The ‘Dores will face Marshall on Friday before playing either Clemson or Dartmouth on Saturday.
