Road Free Throws
Everyone knows getting to the free-throw line helps your chances in hostile road environments, and the Commodores have done a good job with that after their fourth true road game of the season. In their previous four (at Missouri, Middle Tennessee State, South Carolina, at Tennessee), Vanderbilt has made more free throws than their opponents have attempted. In the four games, VU is 70-104 (.673), while opponents are 41-61 (.672).
Second Half Woes In SEC Play
In their two SEC losses on the road, the Commodores have led by as many as 14 (at South Carolina) and 17 (at Tennessee), and their play in the second half has contributed to the losses. In the three league games so far in the second half, Vanderbilt is being outscored 123-102, outrebounded 70-48 (37-15 on offensive glass), and opponents have attempted 49 more field goal attempts (116 to 67).
