New Commodore Head Football Coach James Franklin will be introduced Wednesday during halftime of the Vanderbilt-Ole Miss men’s basketball game in Memorial Gym.
Since becoming the 27th head coach in program history in mid-December, Franklin has stayed busy on two fronts: attracting a coaching staff and developing the Commodores’ newest signing class.
Franklin also has scheduled a public celebration on National Signing Day on Wednesday, Feb. 2. Franklin and his staff will gather with Vanderbilt students and fans in the Student Life Center (Board of Trust Room), with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. Franklin will begin his remarks on the 2011 signing class at 6:30 p.m. The Student Life Center is located directly across 25th Avenue from Memorial Gym.
“My first month at Vanderbilt has been a blur, but it’s been tremendous fun,” Franklin said, “and I can’t wait to see all of our students and that great environment in Memorial Gym next Wednesday.”
Tipoff for the Vanderbilt-Ole Miss game is 8 p.m. CT.
