WBB hosts Princeton in Sunday’s championship

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Following a 111-53 win over Quinnipiac on Friday, Vanderbilt’s women’s basketball team (3-1) will return to the hardwood at 2 p.m. on Sunday when it faces Princeton (3-1) in the championship game of the Vanderbilt Thanksgiving Tournament.

Vanderbilt’s game will be preceded by the consolation game of the Thanksgiving Tournament, which tips off at noon between USC (3-2) and Quinnipiac (0-4). Admission to all games of the tournament is free.

This is the 12th year of the Thanksgiving Tournament and the Commodores hold a 23-0 record in their own tournament. No. 24/22 Vanderbilt is 40-1 all-time in home tournaments.

This will be the fourth all-time meeting between Vanderbilt and Princeton with the Commodores holding a 4-0 series advantage. Princeton’s only loss this season came by one point at Rutgers. The Tigers qualified for the NCAA Tournament last year after winning the Ivy League.

Sunday’s game will air on 560 AM in Nashville with play-by-play announcer Charlie Mattos on the call. Fans may also watch the games online by subscribing to All-Access on VUCommodores.com.
