After defeating Alabama-Huntsville, 69-53, on November 3 in their first exhibition game, the Commodores take on their final exhibition opponent Monday when the Southern Indiana Screaming Eagles travel to Nashville for an 7 p.m. tip off. The game can also be heard on the Vanderbilt Sports Network from IMG College and vucommodores.com as a part of the All-Access package.

The Commodores open their regular season on Friday, November 12, against Presbyterian College at Memorial Gym at 7 p.m.

Vanderbilt Vs. Alabama-Huntsville

The Commodores defeated the Chargers, 69-53, behind a 19-point effort from sophomore guard John Jenkins, who was 8-for-16 from the field, had four rebounds, and blocked three shots in the win. Junior center Festus Ezeli added 12 points and seven rebounds, and junior forward Jeffery Taylor added 11 points and six rebounds.

Vanderbilt led 31-19 at the half and was up 42-34 with less than 12 minutes to go in regulation when the Commodores went on a 13-0 run to push the lead to 21 at 55-34. Vanderbilt shot 46.8% from the field and held the Chargers to 33.9% from the floor. The Commodores also blocked nine shots, and outrebounded Huntsville, 36-29.

McClellan Redshirting

Vanderbilt head coach Kevin Stallings announced after the Alabama Huntsville game that senior forward Darshawn McClellan will redshirt the 2010-11 season. McClellan, from Fresno, Calif., is on track to graduate in May with a degree in Human and Organizational Development and will have one year of eligibility remaining.

About Southern Indiana

Southern Indiana finished the 2009-10 season at 24-9 and finished the year ranked ninth in the final NABC/Division II Top 25 poll. The Screaming Eagles lost 74% of its offense to graduation in 2009-10.

In their other exhibition game against a Division I opponent on November 2, USI lost to Illinois, 76-67, in Champaign. Senior guard C.J. Trotter led USI with 19 points.
