Golfweek.com’s preseason top 30 was released on Wednesday, and the Commodores are ranked 10th. Marina Alex was named as the number five player to watch this upcoming year.
The Commodores return four starters from last year’s team, which finished seventh at the NCAA National Championship. Senior Megan Greghan, junior Marina Alex, and sophomores Anna Leigh Keith and Lauren Stratton all return to the VU starting lineup in 2010-11. The other starting spot up for the upcoming NCAA Fall Preview goes to freshman Rene Sobolewski, who defeated sophomore Julia Thead, a transfer from Furman University, in a contested, multi-day qualifier at the Vanderbilt Legends Golf Club.
