NASHVILLE, Tenn. – With basketball practice about a month from getting underway, Vanderbilt’s women’s basketball team has announced a few promotional dates for the 2010-11 schedule.
The Commodores will host their annual “Jam the Gym” game on Jan. 30 when Vanderbilt hosts Ole Miss. Tickets to the annual fan appreciation game cost just $1.
Vanderbilt will host its annual “Pink Out” to promote breast cancer awareness on Feb. 20 against Kentucky. Breast cancer survivors are recognized during the game and the Commodores will don pink uniforms.
Senior Day festivities will take place Feb. 24 when the Commodores host Florida.
The Commodores also announced game times for their annual Thanksgiving Tournament, which will be played Nov. 26 and 28 (Friday and Sunday) at Memorial Gym. Vanderbilt will open the tournament at 5 p.m. on Nov. 26 against Quinnipiac. Friday’s second game will be played at 7 p.m. between USC and Princeton.
Sunday’s consolation game will be played at 12 p.m., while the championship will be held at 2 p.m.
Additional promotions will be announced as the season approaches.
Vanderbilt opens its exhibition season Nov. 4 against Delta State and its regular season Nov. 14 against Howard.
Season tickets start at $35 and are now on sale through the Vanderbilt ticket office. Tickets may be ordered on vucommodores.com at any time. Tickets may also be ordered by phone at 615-322-GOLD (5643) or in person at the McGugin Center from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Vanderbilt full-time employees will be able to order discounted tickets with a valid ID badge and employee ID number.
