Megan Gibson and Laura Keenan both have been recognized on the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association’s 2010 Academic Honor Roll.
A total of 151 student-athletes from 62 different institutions were included in the IWLCA’s annual honor roll. All student-athletes were nominated by their schools and have achieved at least junior status academically.
Forty-four members of teams that advanced to the NCAA tournament were honored, including the Commodore duo.
A native of Baltimore, Md., Keenan started 15 games in the Commodore midfield last season. Gibson, a product of Memphis, Tenn., saw limited action as a senior due to injury after starting every game of her junior campaign in 2009.
Vanderbilt made four straight appearances in the NCAA Tournament during Gibson and Keenan’s VU careers.
