On Campus in Nashville – With the start of Vanderbilt’s preseason camp just two days away, newly named head coach Robbie Caldwell personally welcomed 27 freshmen and first-year prospects to campus Wednesday.
The newcomers included all 23 members of the 2010 Commodore signing class, junior college transfer Jordan Rodgers and three preferred walk-on candidates.
Caldwell is expected to greet nearly 70 upperclassmen Thursday afternoon as the Commodores prepare for their first preseason practice on Friday.
For the first time in six years, Vanderbilt will open two early preseason practices to the Commodore fans. Those sessions are scheduled this Sunday (4:15 p.m.) and Monday (6 p.m.).
