The sounds of hammering and drilling have filled the air this summer in and around McGugin Center as construction crews have been hard at work renovating the football offices and Stratton Foster Academic Center. However, the McGugin Center is not the only facility being enhanced this summer.
Vanderbilt’s Brownlee O. Currey Jr. Tennis Center is also receiving improvements to its indoor facility. Among the renovations is a new ceiling. The ceiling is being completely replaced and filled with new insulation, which will help prevent extreme temperatures inside the building throughout the year.
The five indoor courts will also be resurfaced and two new umpire chairs will be placed on the courts. The facility improvements are supposed to be finished by the end of August.
“Making improvements to facilities is definitely a priority and this is just another step in that process,” Men’s Tennis Coach Ian Duvenhage said.
