Rising senior Ryan Haselden was named to the Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar team for his work in the classroom in 2009-10 in an announcement made by Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). Haselden becomes the first Commodore golfer to be named to the team since 2005.
To be eligible for Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar status, an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least two full years at the collegiate level, participate in 70-percent of his team’s competitive rounds or compete in the NCAA Championships, and have a stroke-average under 76.0 in Division I.
Haselden, an Economics major who has also been a member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll for all three of his years at Vanderbilt, had the team’s second-best stroke average in 2009-10 at 73.07, and finished in a tie for second at the Commodores’ own Mason Rudolph Championship in September of 2009, his best finish of the season.
