NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Former Vanderbilt lefthander David Price has been tapped for the American League All-Star team.
Price, who also played at Blackman High in Murfreesboro, is 11-4 with a 2.42 ERA for the Tampa Bay Rays. He has 90 strikeouts in 107.2 innings.
Price will be joined July 13 in Anaheim by teammates Evan Longoria, a third baseman, and left fielder Carl Crawford.
The selection marks the first major league all-star team made by Price, the top pick in the 2007 draft.
