Team Notes
* Vanderbilt is now 20-18 all-time in the NCAA Tournament. VU is 17-12 in the NCAA Tourney under Tim Corbin. Prior to Corbin’s arrival in 2003, the Commodores were 3-6 in three previous appearances.
* Vanderbilt is playing in its second ever NCAA Super Regional. VU played in the Austin Super Regional against Texas in 2004. VU is 1-4 in NCAA Super Regional games.* Vanderbilt played in its first Super Regional Championship game on Sunday.
* Vanderbilt is playing in its fifth straight NCAA Tourney. VU has made the NCAA tourney six times in eight seasons under Corbin.
* Vanderbilt finishes the season a 46-20 record. VU’s 46 wins in 2010 is the second most wins in a single season in school history (school record is 54 victories in 2007)
* Florida State now leads the all-time series with Vanderbilt 4-2. The two teams met in a three-game series in 1972 with VU winning the first game and FSU rebounding to win the next two.
Individual Notes
* Aaron Westlake and Mike Yastrzemski led the team with two hits a piece on Sunday. Westlake was 2-for-4 with 2 doubles, 2 RBI and a run scored while Yastrzemski was 2-for-4. With two doubles on Sunday, Westlake finishes the season tied for second on the team in doubles with 16. Esposito led the team and SEC in doubles with 25.
* Yastrzemski went 6-for-11 in the three games at the NCAA Super Regional.
* Jason Esposito stole his team-leading 31st base of the season. Esposito has stole 51 bases in two years at Vanderbilt.
* Brian Harris was hit for the 37th time this season, extending his NCAA record to 37 hit-by-pitch. Prior to 2010, Creighton’s Robbie Knight held the previous NCAA record of 35 HBP.
