Team Notes
* Vanderbilt now leads the all-time series with Louisville 17-4. VU improved to 2-1 against Louisville this year and has now won five of the last seven meetings with the Cardinals.
* Vanderbilt is now 5-2 against the Cardinals under head coach Tim Corbin.
* Vanderbilt is playing in its ninth NCAA tournament appearance in school history, including their fifth straight. VU has made the NCAA tourney six times in eight seasons under head coach Tim Corbin.
* Vanderbilt improved to 18-16 all-time in the NCAA Tournament.
* Vanderbilt improved to 15-10 in the NCAA tournament under Corbin.
* Vanderbilt advanced to its third NCAA Regional final in the last four years. It marked the third time in the last four year.
* The 7-0 shutout against Louisville marks the third shutout Vanderbilt has had in the last two years of the NCAA Tournament. VU shutout Indiana (W, 10-0) and Middle Tennessee (W, 6-0) in last year’s NCAA Louisville Regional.
* Vanderbilt won its 43rd and 44th game of the year on Sunday with wins over Illinois State and Louisville. VU’s 44 wins in 2010 is the third most wins in a season in school history. The school record for wins in a year is 54 victories, which was set in 2007. The 2004 NCAA Super Regional team went 45-19 which is the second best mark in school history. The 2010 VU team is just the fourth team in school history to surpass the 40-win plateau; (2004- 45-19; 2007- 54-13; 2008- 41-22).

Individual Notes
* Richie Goodenow tossed a complete-game two-hit shutout on Sunday to improve to 3-1 on the year and lower his season ERA to 1.74. The start for Goodenow was only his second of his career in 68 career appearances.
* Prior to Sunday, Goodenow’s longest career outing had been 4.2 innings vs. Oklahoma State in the Dodgertown Classic on Feb. 28, 2010. Goodenow finished the game facing two over the minimum numbers of batters faced (27).
* Aaron Westlake went 3-for-4 against Louisville with two runs scored to raise his NCAA Regional average to .400. Westlake is 6-for-15 with 7 RBI, 8 runs scored and 2 home runs in four games at the Regional.
* Jason Esposito went 2-for-4 with 2 RBI and a run scored on Sunday. In four games at the NCAA Regional Esposito is batting a team-best .471 (8-for-17) with 4 RBI, 2 doubles, a home run and four runs scored.
* Through four games of the NCAA Regional, Vanderbilt relievers have allowed just one earned run in 15 1/3 innings in a microscopic 0.59 ERA.
* Curt Casali’s fifth-inning single snapped what was an 0-for-24 hitless streak dating back to May 22.
