NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt senior Hudson Johnson was named a second- team All-Southeastern Conference honoree by a vote of league coaches, the conference office announced Tuesday.
Johnson led the Commodores with a 71.86 stroke average this season while appearing in all 10 team events. He scored in a team-high 26 of 28 rounds and finished in the Top 10 of four events, including a third- place result at the season-opening Golfweek Conference Challenge.
The Longview, Texas native finished fourth at the Samford Intercollegiate in March to help the Commodores to their third team championship in as many years. In his VU career, Johnson has won a pair of individual titles, one medal shy of Brandt Snedeker’s Commodore record.
Vandebilt is awaiting its postseason fate. The seedings for the 2010 NCAA Regional Championships will be announced on May 10. Those events will feed in to the NCAA National Championships, being played this May at The Honors Course in Chattanooga.
