NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt junior Claire Leonard was named the ALC Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday. Leonard played a big part in Vanderbilt’s 19-8 win over Ohio State, picking up two ground balls and holding her mark scoreless.
On the season, Leonard has totaled 17 ground balls and eight caused turnovers for the No. 9 Commodores, who improved to 9-3 for the season with their eighth straight victory.
The ‘Dores will return to action on Wednesday, April 14, when they travel to face Binghamton in Vestal, New York. Game time is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. CT.
