NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Junior Katherine Denkler was named the ALC Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday. The Virginia native helped lead the Commodores to wins over No. 11 Notre Dame and Delaware.
In the comeback win at Notre Dame, Denkler finished with four goals as the Commodores knocked off the Irish. Her two key goals with 5:45 and 4:58 remaining gave Vanderbilt a 9-9 tie. In the win over Delaware, Denkler was strong again with two goals, four ground balls, and four draw controls.
The junior was also named to WomensLacrosse.com’s Honor Roll for her play.
For the season, Denkler has totaled 20 goals, seven assists, 11 ground balls, ten draw controls, and seven caused turnovers.
Denkler and the No. 10 Commodores will return to action on Saturday, April 3, when they take on Johns Hopkins at the VU Lacrosse Complex. Game time is scheduled for 1 pm CT.
