Soccer announces spring schedule

Feb. 19, 2010

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Vanderbilt women’s soccer team has released its eight-game 2010 spring schedule, and they will open up as soon as next weekend (Feb. 27) against familiar foes in Ole Miss and Alabama.

Head Coach Ronnie Woodard thinks the spring schedule will be a great opportunity for her team to continue to improve in all areas of the game.

“This year’s spring schedule will be filled with quality matches, and I am looking forward to watching our players improve and compete at a high level,” Woodard said.

The Commodores spring slate includes teams from the SEC, Big Ten, Conference USA, Big East, Missouri Valley and Sun Belt.

VU will open their spring season next weekend in Oxford, Miss. as they square off with Ole Miss at 10 a.m., before playing Alabama in the afternoon.

The ‘Dores will then travel to Bloomington, Ind., to face Indiana and Evansville on Sunday, March 28.

Vanderbilt will then make the short trek down I-24 to Murfreesboro to play against Middle Tennessee at 7 p.m., on the first day of April.

VU will then travel to the east side of the state to participate in an All-Tennessee college soccer tournament where they will face Memphis and Carson Newman on the weekend of April 12 before closing out the spring slate the following weekend at Cincinnati.
