Track signs two for 2010-2011

The Vanderbilt Commodores track program has signed two promising women for the 2010-2011 school year, head coach D’Andre Hill announced today.

For Hill, track and field recruitment has started to move towards finding a replacement for senior high jumper Mallory Hitt in Ellie Tidman, who is the reigning Indiana state high jump champion and has been for the past three consecutive seasons. The Commodores also look to add depth to the hurdles corps with signee Lacy Moore, who was the state runner-up in 2009 .

TN Division II State runner-up in 2009 in the 300 Hurdles…also place 3rd at the TN D-II State Meet in the 100 Hurdles…has competed in the Combined Events and placed 3rd at the TN D-II State Pentathlon in 2009…has a brother who is an All-American in the 400H at Ole Miss.

High Jump 5′ 9 ½”

3x State Champ in High Jump (2007, 2008, 2009)…has jumped over 5′ 8″ each of the past three years…personal best of 5′ 9 ½” in 2008 ranked #14 in the US…jumped 5′ 9″ as a freshman…2009 best of 5′ 8″ ranked #35 in US…has also competed indoors leading the State in 2007 with a jump of 5′ 6″.
