NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Vanderbilt women’s track team returns to action this upcoming weekend at the Iowa State Classic in Ames, Ia. and the Tyson Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark.
The field athletes and sprinting corps will be heading to Iowa State, while the distance runners will be going back to familiar territory at the University of Arkansas.
Back in action for the Commodores is NCAA Regional performer Rita Jorgensen. Jorgensen has missed the first part of the indoor season due to injury.
Vanderbilt is coming off its strongest weekend of the indoor season. Three Commodore pole vaulters now share second place on the all-time VU indoor list.
Junior Katherine Hendricks cleared 11-7.75 at the Razorback Invitational, the second indoor meet of the season. Sophomore Meagan Martin and freshman Morgan Toone each cleared the same height the next weekend at the Rod McCravy Invitational in Lexington, Ky.
This weekend is the final weekend of competition for the Commodores before heading to the SEC Indoor Championships in Fayetteville, Ark., Feb. 26-28.
